Melanie Pascal, the founder and owner of Tastelier and Taste Austria, is a certified sommelier and renown beverage and food specialist.
Melanie was born and raised in northern Italy, Trentino-Alto Adige, where she studied everything about Italian and international wine along her degree in hotel management, restaurant services and her training to become a chef.
For the love for the city of Vienna she left Italy in 2010 to explore a new passion for wholehearted-malty handcrafted Austrian beers, juicy and fine-balanced Riesling Smaragd Achleiten and another enormous variety of handcrafted, sustainable fine foods and delicacies in Austria.
After several years in wine and food business, there is one thing people notice first when Melanie starts talking about food. It is not only the expertise and her talks about producing it how you might think, but her eyes sparkle most when she tells about her encounters with fine food and beverage producers all over the alpine area and how she admires their sincere passion and dedication to the love of high quality food.
Growing up as the daughter to a travel agent and a fine food merchant Melanie has trained her palate to various sensory experience already at a young age. In Austria Melanie followed her passion for beverage studies and became a certified beer sommelier, a certified whisky expert and continues her path currently training to start the Court of Master Sommeliers in London soon.
Her passion for good food and social business brought her to run the award winning Platform 'Taste Austria' for small sustainable family run food business founded in 2014. Taste Austria features more than 300 farmers and fine food stores all over Austria and was also nominated among other 10 Food Blogs for the Austrian Food Blog Award in 2018.
Taste Austria is planning to take a supporting part of the Tastelier in early 2020 to expand the goals to create an outstanding food and beverage experiences and support local, sustainable, high quality food producers and stores.

Ferdinand, the founder and owner of Live & Gourmet Fine Foods, is a renown Fine Food Distributor and food enthusiast.
Ferdinand was born and raised in northern Italy, Trentino-Alto Adige and started building a region-wide famous travel agency and bus transfer company at the early age of this mid-twenties. Travelling the whole world professionally for almost 40 years he claims to know the best food spots, markets, producers and finest delicacies of almost every country you could name.
His stories about searching for the best quality oysters in Arcachon or his memories of getting introduced per accident to the best lemon farmer in Amalfi still growing Sfusato Amalfi lemons, you hardly can buy get you dreaming about the immense amount of different food aromas and adventures this gentleman can talk you about.
In 2016 he decided to postpone retirement and use his knowledge to start his own fine food distribution and production in Italy. Supporting the Tastelier as food-mentor for Italian and international delicacies Ferdinand also takes the role as a Godfather to the Tastelier to support his daughter Melanie combining her Mediterranean roots with her passions and business plans in Austria.
